Impact Studios, a veteran in video production since 1995, has navigated the evolution of video formats, from 1" analog reel-to-reel to Beta SP cassettes. With decades of experience, we've mastered virtually every format of the past 30 years. Recognizing the continued need for archival footage, we maintain our most-used tape players in pristine condition. As a service to fellow producers, we offer professional video tape digitization to your preferred digital format, facilitating seamless download and utilization.
We support the following formats:
- Betacam
- Beta SP
- Digital Beta
- Betacam SX
- MPEG IMX
- HDV
All transfers are conducted digitally, ensuring minimal signal degradation. Beta formats are transferred via SDI, and DV formats via Firewire, eliminating the noise and loss associated with external analog-to-digital conversion. Your digitized videos are promptly uploaded to a secure online platform for download, or optionally delivered on hard drives, Blu-ray discs, or media cards. We support both NTSC and PAL standards for Beta formats.
Digitized videos are available in the following formats, with up to 8 audio channels:
- ProRes
- DNxHD
- H.264
Transcoding to alternative formats and upscaling are available upon request.
Our pricing is transparent and straightforward: $40 per half-hour, rounded to the nearest half-hour. Our experienced technicians monitor each transfer to ensure optimal quality. In the event of tape degradation, we will promptly notify you and offer potential solutions. All work is performed in-house at our New York facility.
