Broadcast Tape Transfer &
Legacy Media Preservation

Protecting Your History in a Digital World.

In today's digital world, the ability to access and save old broadcast tapes is a disappearing craft. Impact Studios maintains a professional machine room dedicated to the high-quality digitization of professional tape. We don’t just "copy" tape; we use over 30 years of engineering experience to ensure your old videos are moved to modern, digital files without losing any quality.

Whether you are a media company restoring a documentary or a business saving decades of company history, we have the gear and the expertise to handle your sensitive old media.

We Support All Major Professional Formats:

  • Betacam Series: Betacam, Beta SP, Digital Beta, Betacam SX, and MPEG IMX.
  • Digital Video: HDV and various DV formats.

All transfers are done digitally to ensure the best possible signal. We use professional connections (like SDI and Firewire) to eliminate the "noise" and quality loss found with cheap home converters. Once finished, your videos are uploaded to a secure site for download or delivered on hard drives and discs.

Our Preservation Services

  • Full Format Support: We work with almost all professional-grade video tape formats.
  • Video Stabilization: We use special processing to fix "shaky" video or color noise common in old tapes.
  • Large Library Management: We can help you move entire tape libraries to modern cloud or server storage.
  • Bulk Rates: We offer scalable pricing for large corporate archives and historical societies.

Modern, Edit-Ready Files

We provide your digitized video in high-quality formats that are ready for editing or sharing, including ProRes, DNxHD, and H.264. We can also "upscale" your old video to look better on modern screens upon request.

Simple, Transparent Pricing

Our pricing is straightforward: $40 per half-hour of footage. Our expert technicians watch every transfer to ensure the best quality. If a tape is damaged, we will let you know immediately and offer solutions to save the footage. All work is done in-house at our New York facility.
